Taking place each spring at Riverbend Gun Club just outside of Atlanta, GA, you will test your skills against some of the best shooters in the world for bragging rights and huge cash prizes!
Now in its 28th year, the Southern States Classic (formerly Confederate National Matches) was started in 1993 by Chuck Nicolaysen and Bobby Reiber to protest raising the entry fees to the NRA National Rifle Matches. The Match was run by Chuck, Bobby and friends for several years, and in 1999 the mantel of stewardship was passed to Vince Greiner. The match date was moved from after the Nationals to spring of the year, and entrants have exceeded range capacity many times. In 2020, the members voted to change the name of the matches to Southern States Classic.
Three days of shooting at Georgia's Riverbend highpower range (200, 300 & 600 yards x 25 firing points) is topped off with lots of trophies, merchandise and cash awards.
In 2015, over $3500 was awarded with a field of 56 shooters.
In 2016, over $3000 was awarded with a field of 50 shooters.
In 2017, over $3500 was awarded with a field of 48 shooters.
